Scholarship

20+2 Scholarship
The 20+2 scholarship program asks each scholarship recipient to donate a minimum of 20 hours per academic semester to an approved charity or community organization and the final 2 hours to the student body through tutoring. Scholarships are awarded for both the Fall and Spring academic semesters.  The Fall semester submission period is from June 1st – August 1st each year.  The Spring semester submission period is from November 1st – December 15th
 
Requirements
1. Enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more credit hours each semester) in an accredited college or university in Texas. 
2. Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) 
3. A resident of Texas and a U.S. citizen
 
All applicants will be required to submit their applications along with a short essay (1500 words or less).  For additional information regarding the 20+2 scholarship program, please email us at scholarship@plaidsquirrel.com.
 
Instructions
1.  Download a copy of the scholarship application (20+2 Scholarship application)
2.  Complete the application and the essay portion
3.  Email the completed application along with a photo to scholarship@plaidsquirrel.com

Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to our 2012 scholarship winners - Megan Hermann, Baylor University and Lauren Seibert, Baylor University.
 
Megan Hermann is currently studying at Baylor University, working towards a major in biochemistry and a minor in Spanish.  She plans to attend medical school to become a neurosurgeon and a neurobiological researcher.  Megan also looks forward to volunteering with Doctors Without Borders.  Currently, she is conducting laboratory research and a working with a local pediatric clinic.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and horseback riding. 
 
Lauren Seibert is currently studying at Baylor University, working towards a major in Speech Language Pathology.  She hopes to use her degree to eradicate illiteracy among kids and adults with learning disabilities.  Lauren grew up traveling all around the world, and her passion in life is Jesus Christ and His church.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and participating outdoor sports such as running, canoeing, biking and hiking.
